Masking for surface finishing
Masking presents unique challenges within the medical device industry. Components are expensive, of high precision and subject to strict standards of manufacturing to avoid contamination. In today's environment, quality and cost go hand-in-hand. Masking can add significant cost, decrease throughput and cause defects requiring rework or scrapping.

UV Curable Masking Resins Reduce Aircraft Component Processing Costs
A family of solvent-free, UV curable temporary masking resins has been developed to simplify component masking processes prior to surface preparation and finishing operations. These resins cure in seconds under UV light and provide superior protection during machining, laser drilling, grit blasting, shot peening, acid stripping, plating, and thermal spray coating.

Preventive Maintenance Guidelines for Dymax UVC Systems
Preventive maintenance is a critical part of any UV curing process. Improper procedures or the lack of a systematic program can increase the probability of unexpected downtime and periodic unexplained failures in the process. The procedures in this document delineate how to properly maintain the equipment to ensure the process is operating efficiently.

RADIOMETERS:
Understanding and Proper Use Can Assure a Consistent Light Curing Process
The intensity values advertised for UV/Visible adhesive and coating curing lamps, measured in Watts or milliwatts per cm2(W/cm2 or mW/cm2) are obtained using an instrument known as a radiometer. This device is designed to measure the concentration or intensity (power density) of energy at a specific point. Radiometers are available from many sources, in various configurations and price ranges. Like many other things, the quality and accuracy of the radiometer is often directly proportional to the price. Specific models are appropriate for specific lamp types.
