SpeedMask™ Selector Guide

Resins for Reliable Protection and Process Simplification for New Parts Manufacture, Overhaul and Repair

A family of solvent-free, UV curable temporary masking resins has been developed to simplify component masking processes prior to surface preparation and finishing operations. These resins cure in seconds under UV light and provide superior protection during machining, laser drilling, grit blasting, shot peening, acid stripping, plating and thermal spray coating. Their ease of application, speed of cure, and consistent reliability surpasses that of waxes, tapes, lacquers, and other slow curing, solvent-based maskants. This improved technology offers substantial cost savings through reductions in labor, rework and scrap.

Chemical Masks & Electroplating
  • High adhesion; resists HCI and other acids/alkalis
  • Cures to 1/4" deep
  • Tough, translucent bonds
  • Machines and abrades cleanly
  • Leaves no residue
702

703
  • Same as above, with hard, clear and glossy bonds
  • Superior resistance to plating solutions
704
  • Non-slumping resin
706
  • Similar to 703 but thicker
707
Laser Mask
Cooling Cavity Sealant
  • Low viscosity flows easily into cavities; use with YAG lasers
  • Protects from beam impingement
715
Cooling Cavity Sealant
  • For use where heat cure is not practical
  • Hard, glossy, abrasion resistant
Peelable Masks Peels easily at room temperature or after warm soak, 120°F-150°F
708
Grinding, Peening and Grit Blasting Masks
(also resists low temperature coating processes)
  • Low adhesion, easy manual peel off
711
  • Higher adhesion, peels off easily after warm water soak
716
Plating
Harsh Grit Blasting
  • Plating solution resistant, peels off easily after warm water rinse
  • Leaves no residue
  • Spray, brush or dip to apply
717
Plating
Harsh Grit Blasting
  • Plating solution resistant, peels off easily after warm water rinse
  • Leaves no residue
