We have started to produce a -400 Walnut Shell Flour (38 Micron).  This is an incredible, very fine filler, which is not seen very often on the market.

We have been getting an increasing number of calls for non-skid & anti-slip additives. Both our Walnut Shell and our Plasti-Grit Clear Cut are well received in non-skid applications.

Walnut Shell and plastic media have low specific gravities just above water, so they mix well with the coating rather than sinking to the bottom like traditional non-skid additives. This allows them to be applied with the coating, creating a more consistent non-skid surface than you can get by broadcasting the non-skid additive after the coating has been applied.

For more information, please visit our Non-Skid Additives page or you can contact us at 800-262-7763.

We are on the move.  After 21 December 2009 we will have the following address:

Composition Materials Co., Inc.
249 Pepes Farm Road
Milford, CT 06460

Telephone numbers and e-mail are the same.

Alan Nudelman, President

We acquired CMC from Ted Diamond in 1987 after my long career with IBM.  Ted is a pioneer in the fields of fillers and the uses of Walnut Shell.

At that time our offices were in Stamford, Ct.  A year later we moved to Fairfield, CT and in 2000 built our factory and administrative offices in leased space in Milford, CT.

Now we are entering a new phase in our business development. CMC is now 86 years old and this is our first facilities ownership.

Our new facility, built in 1984, is modern and well suited to our manufacturing needs. It is 17,000 sq. ft with 24 foot ceilings.  This will accommodate our large Grinding and Sifting operation.  Our large warehousing requirement is satisfied efficiently by floor to ceiling pallet racking.  New materials handling equipment adds to the efficiency of the operation.

During the last weeks of December and into January we will be rebuilding our manufacturing lines.  We have been building inventory and hope you will experience no shortages.  Please order as soon as possible so we can meet your requirements.

We will continue to improve our responsiveness as we get settled in our new facility.  Please contact us if there are any problems.

Alan K Nudelman
