Acid Strip Mask for Overhaul and Repair of Turbine Blades and Vanes

Acid resistant mask for stripping turbine airfoils of their coating. Safely seals cooling holes and core cavity against exposure to acid baths and contamination. Mainly prevents the acid from entering the internals of the part. Also protects delicate machined surfaces, such as the root form, by preventing exposure to the acid.

APS Coating Mask for Turbine Blades and Vanes

Mask against the effects of Atmospheric Plasma Spray (APS) coatings for turbine airfoils. Safely seals cooling holes and core cavity against process contamination. Mainly prevents the plasma coating from entering the internals of the part. Also protects airfoil holes from "coat down" which decreases the diameter of the cooling hole thus restricting airflow and eliminating a common source of expensive rework.

SpeedMask™ 707
Laser Mask for Turbine Airfoils

Laser Mask for turbine blade/vane, laser drilled airfoils. Seals and protects the internal cooling cavity during YAG Laser drilling. Laser hole drilling can cause impingement of the core cavity wall. This creates a defect that degrades the part, and increases the risk of a scrapped component. Masking prevents the laser beam from impinging on the opposing wall once it has drilled the airfoil cooling hole and has penetrated into the core cavity.

Shot Peening for Turbine Blades & Vanes

Shot peen mask for turbine airfoils. Safely seals cooling holes and core cavity against process contamination. Mainly prevents the metal shot media from entering the internals of the part. Also protects airfoil holes from the effect of metallic shot, which can reduce the passage of air through the hole after processing.

Shot peen mask for turbine airfoils. Safely seals cooling holes and core cavity against Foreign Object Damage (FOD), typically associated with peening operations. Additionally, the masking protects airfoil cooling holes from distortion during processing, which can reduce the airflow through the holes after processing.
